Sebastian Goder

Sebastian Goder was born in East Berlin. He started out as an actor and director, performing blacklisted plays in an underground theatre group in the GDR, which would often land him in trouble with the Stasi. He  went on to train acting in Leipzig, and – after escaping East Germany – in Munich.

He later joined the ensemble of the Munich Kammerspiele for seven years.

When he became a father, he moved back to Berlin. He focussed on his writing, and produced his first screenplays, but it was some time before he was able to make a living from it.

After touring the country with theatre groups and performing over five thousand shows, Sebastian began to work as a theatre director. He later went on to write and direct two feature films.

Since then, Sebastian has devoted himself entirely to writing and directing. For his stories, he can draw from his life experience under two political systems, his work as an actor, coach and director.

Sebastian lives and works at Lake Starnberg, Bavaria and on Mallorca, Spain.
