Kai S. Pieck
Director & ScreenwriterKai wrote short stories as a child, which he was allowed to read to his school class. From time to time, his class teacher also let him play with his hand puppets in front of his schoolmates. Kai never rehearsed for it, reached into a box at home, picked out a few dolls, and then improvised a story in class.
Later in high school, his class was to shoot Super 8 films with a plot in art class. For the first time, Kai (co-)directed and learned to plan in addition to improvisation. – From that moment on, he knew he wanted to be a director and writer! This was followed by a series of Super 8 and video projects, which Kai influenced with great enthusiasm as a creative team member or implemented, organized and self-financed according to his own ideas.
As an autodidact in the media industry, he then went his own way with various tasks in front of and behind the camera and faced the diverse challenges – both as an organizer and as a creative. And even today he draws on his talents and skills discovered in childhood: to let his imagination run wild, to tell unconventional stories, to motivate and inspire people and – above all – to improvise!
