Thomas Glöckner

Thomas was born in Saxony in 1970 and was a student at a Russian school when he was young, a GDR sailing champion, a welder, a republic refugee and a plumber in Bavaria for no apparent reason, until he started to be himself in Berlin in spring 1990. After graduating from evening school and gaining his first experience as a recording and production manager, he studied production at the HFF Potsdam, worked as a producer in Studio Babelsberg – and began writing screenplays.

His stories illuminate the big things from a small perspective and are automatically funny dramas. He is powerless here because it is humor that turns his characters into real people. He is currently interested in the German-German sensibilities and the positive aspects of the East, and of course the Prussian imperial era, which he will bring to life with heart, wit and sensuality.
