Bahar Bektas
ScreenwriterBahar was born in Dersim/Turkey and came to Germany at the age of nine. She dealt with social injustices at an early age. In her youth, she mainly used acting, painting, music and dance to express herself. Later she worked as a social pedagogue with refugees, prostitutes, hustlers, homeless people and criminals. This confrontation with the often brutal reality and the unvarnished truth led her to write fiction. This was the best way for her to process what she had experienced. After several training courses in screenwriting, she completed 2023 successfully her studies for a master’s degree at the Film University Konrad Wolf Babelsberg. In her material, she addresses socio-political issues based on personal experience and observation, and she implements this with the necessary seriousness, but often also with great humour.
